Happy Birthday Olivia!!

My beautiful daughter Olivia is turning 15 years old this Saturday. She recently competed in the USA Girls national wrestling tournament in Michigan for the second year in a row. This year she came in 4th place in the nation, in her weight class (156 lbs).

Olivia won the New England USGWA Girls Championship on March 12th. She pinned a Sophomore (about 180 lbs) from Mass in her first match in the first period..and then pinned a Senior (165 lbs) from Conn. in the 2nd period... and then in her final match, she pinned a Junior (same weight, 156) in about 35 secs...

So as a freshmen, she pinned a Sophomore, Junior and a Senior... to win her first High School championship

Olivia

Enjoyed girls camp last week. She bore her testimony about her experience there and how much it meant to her spiritually. She bore her testimony at youth conference as well, prompted by the spirit.

It was so crazy to think that she attended youth conference at Troy State! Man time flies. It was so awesome for her to attend with her third cousins Hunter and Wyatt Brock. Their parents are our cousins Adam and Shanna, who live in Chipley.

Olivia wished youth conference was a whole week.  Can you believe it was also her first experience going to a dance? Wow!

I am so proud of her spiritual progress.

She and I attended the Orlando Temple and she performed family file baptisms. She always misses going with her ward, cause of coming to Tally.

Korea

I am going to be living in a city called Chunan-si. It's 75km from Seoul.

It is a mid sized town. I will live in a furnished studio provided by the school. The studio doesn't have a clothes dryer....standard in Korea....no one does. They hang clothes to dry.

I will 5 year old children, 4 year olds north american curriculum. I will be their first exposure to english a standardized curriculum. Then they go home at 3 pm. Then I tutor older elementary kids english until 7 pm.

I will teach from  9 am to 7 pm monday through friday. On the weekends I hope to cu tutor on the side for 40 dollars an hour.

I hope I'll make great money while I'm there.

I am working for a franchise of korea poly schools.
It is the third largest education corporation in korea. Poly schools are english immersion schools.

I almost taught in shanghai china. I was offered a contract in march. I was very excited to go but the pay was not as good as in korea. also it was at that point also olivia thought she was going to move here.

Tentatively Kim and Olivia Will fly to korea The beginning of july. The plan is for Olivia to stay with me july and august.

This is a dream for me to live abroad for year. I have to save a lot of money, improve myself, improve my craft and hopefully figure out the next stage in my life.  I will be 40 years old a few days after I arrive there.

Olivia is excited for me. She has read many books about daughters to travel the world with their mothers. The mother works in different countries and the daughter gets to have new adventures. She would live for me to do a different country every year and she travel with me. Maya is not interested. All she cares about are her friends.

I see  my cardiac and neuro doctors next week. I've been wearing a heart monitor for 30 days. It records heart is in which I have to call in. During  crossfit workouts I usually record 4-5 events. I returned to training in order to recreate my symptoms .....numbers and tingling in my body typically starting in my face.

The thought is that my brain is telling my heart to drop my blood pressure when I am exerted instead of it should be telling it to raise it so that I get more blood to use. This is genetic. Although the ADD med I was on (concerta) was causing the seizures and the intensified symptoms. I am no longer on that drug.

I had an MRI last week to recheck the white spots on my brain, and a physical.

I will be fine in korea medically. Don't worry. I may have to take a drug for my brain for the rest of my life, wont know till next week.

I know korea is right for me at this point in my life. I have discovered that I have alot of growing up to do and recovery from my dysfunctional marriage. I hope to work on myself and maturing.

Made by Mee, Cakes by Melissa

Okay Family.  I have recently been making cakes as a hobby and some of you may or may not have seen these, but I thought I would post them to the blog just in case.  I really enjoy decorating the cakes...not so much the baking part.  Turns out I am a terrible baker!  It usually takes me several tries to get a good cake, so Liz has helped me out a couple times along with others.

Anyway, please enjoy!  P.S. Seth and I leave for vacation soon and can't wait to update the blog with lots of photos, so stay tuned.

Irish history for St. Patrick's Day-Are we Irish?

(Last name of Ruth Bellflower's mother) Moody is an English surname. It ranks in the top 200 most common surnames in English speaking nations. It is most commonly acknowledged as being of English origin. The earliest known example dates from the 12th century in a Devonshire early English charter-where the name Alwine 'Modig' is mentioned. Recent census research suggests that the surname has been most consistently popular in Somerset, Wiltshire and Hampshire and also in areas of north east England.[1] There is also a high incidence of the similar-sounding surname 'Moodie' in Scotland and Orkney, although the variant ending "ie" is thought to be unrelated and Celtic in origin. The surname Moody was also carried to areas of Ireland settled by the early English. Although the most intensive areas of occurrence match areas of dense Anglo-Saxon habitation post 1066, it is difficult to determine if the name is Anglo-Saxon or Nordic/Viking in origin, since all Germanic countries used the word 'Modig' or 'Mutig' to indicate someone who was bold, impetuous or brave. Surnames were increasingly given through the early Middle Ages to assist taxation and an increasing incidence of the name can be followed in such documents as the Hundred Rolls, early English charters and general medieval assizes associated with such actions as baronial struggles, Crusades or Angevin campaigns in France.

There was a significant incidence of the name among early American immigrants from England in the 17th century.

(Last name of Bill Bellflower's mother)

Davis is a patronymic surname originating in England or Wales, that means 'son of David'.[3] It is the 52nd most common surname in the United Kingdom.[4] According to the 1990 United States Census survey, 'Davis' was the 6th most frequently reported surname, accounting for 0.48% of the population, preceding Miller and following Brown in frequency.[5] It is also semi-common amongst Ashkenazi Jews in Anglophone countries. This surname is also found in Ireland.[6]

Davis is also a Sept [2] of the Scottish Clan Davidson.

Ethan's 6th Birthday

For Ethan's party he wanted to have a superhero party. In attendance were Poison Ivy, Black Spiderman, Iron Man and some kids who showed up in plain clothes. I guess they were the undecided category. The biggest superhero of the day was an appearance by "SuperDad." You guessed it, who else...it was Dusty. He's the greatest.

Enjoy the pics.
